It’s official. The all new Global Car of the Year 2022 winner Hyundai Ioniq 5 will receive an enhanced version for the 2023 make. Some of them included but not limited to; bigger battery, increment to range, increase of power, and the air conditioning/heater will be an improvement to the entire range of 2023 as well.
Let’s get down to the specifications improvement on the Ioniq 5 here :
Speed | Hyundai Ioniq 5 2023 |
---|---|
Battery pack | 77.4 kWh |
WLTP range | 507 km/315 miles |
Power | 325 PS |
Heat Pump + Battery conditioning | standard across all range of 2023 Ioniq 5 |
What does this improvement brings?
The 2022 make of Ioniq 5 Long Range version (2WD) has 72.4 kWh and WLTP range of 481 kilometers. While the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 2023 is able to offer up to an increment of 26km WLTP range to 507km. On top of that, charging capability will be vastly improved through battery conditioning to be made standard across the 2023 make of Ioniq 5. And a potential real world range advantage by having a battery heat pump added (also made standard across the range), this makes sense for cold climate, which is known to lower the limit of what the battery could operate.
How about the availability?
This will be rolled out starting Q3 of 2022 for the UK buyers. And do expect a global roll out somewhere around Q4 2022 onwards up to 2023.
