As one of the more promising traditional car manufacturer moving towards EV-train, Volvo US has said that their entire fleet of 2023 cars will be either EV, plug-in hybrid or mild hybrid. Confirmed by the press release as of 11th May 2022 Wednesday.
The only Volvo EVs available in the US now; the C40 (Coupe version of XC40) and XC40 Recharge P8.
With the rest of the fleet; XC60, V60, S90, V90 and XC90 will be be fitted as a mild hybrid or a plug-in hybrid option. There wouldn’t be a gasoline-only version anymore.
On top of that, Google Assistant will be a standard across every model. This basically makes the entire fleet as a “Google” car. Where your infotainment is build with Android auto. No longer a need to connect your phone to ‘boot’ up the Android auto.
Question now would be, when would Volvo from the rest of the globe follow suit?
